This year’s theme centres on the diversity of methods used to explore the past and the consideration of time and space as part of historical inquiry. How does our work as scholars engage in questions of scope and scale?

Call for submissions

Papers, panels, and posters covering a range of historical periods and perspectives will be accepted. We encourage submissions that address the conference theme “Local Meets Global” and consider how space and place have shaped the past.

Topics

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Activism and Politics

  • Colonization and Decolonization

  • Culture and Identity

  • Digital History

  • Ecology and the Environment

  • Economics and Trade

  • Gender and Sexuality

  • Historiography and Epistemology

  • International Relations

  • Legal and Criminal Histories

  • Religious and Spiritual Movements

  • Research Methods

  • Science, Medicine, and Technology

  • War and Society

Interested applicants are invited to submit proposals for papers, panels, posters, and roundtables with an abstract of 250 words and a short biography of 150 words with no more than three papers combined for a panel proposal.

New in 2026: poster submissions

Academic posters provide an alternative presentation form for presenters and attendees alike. For this conference, posters will be printed and displayed in the venue atrium. Registration

Registration is now open! Sign up before February 27 to receive complimentary meal tickets for a catered lunch. General registration for conference attendees will remain open until March 21.
